They suck blood, they’re wingless, and they love your dog. If you guessed ‘fleas’ or ‘ticks’ then consider yourself lucky. Hundreds of pet owners worldwide have experienced the nearly unbearable stress of pet fleas and ticks, without knowing what exactly that had their animal friend constantly itching. It’s just like they say – knowing is half the battle. Unfortunately, ticks and fleas are nearly impossible to spot under the thick coats of our loving pets. There have been over 2,000 species of fleas discovered worldwide, lucky for us Frontline Plus has pioneered a solution that can soothe all irritation caused by fleas and ticks once we identify our pet’s discomfort.

Get rid of pests quick. Fleas and ticks are known to be of the contagious type, and it’s not only your pet that they’re attacking either. Fleas are infamous jumpers; they’ve recorded jumping distances of well over ten centimeters in approximately one millisecond. What this means is that for every second one of your pets is a walking flea home, they are also a vehicle for the flea colony occupying them, transporting the fleas from place to place and allowing them to spread all over your home. This is just one of the reasons extricating fleas and ticks should be a top priority. Frontline Plus’ solutions don’t hesitate to get rid of any ticks or fleas taking shelter in your pet. Research data shows that it takes only 48 hours for ticks to be killed after being treated with Frontline Plus, and only 12 hours for fleas to die after coming in contact with the solution. By choosing Frontline Plus you’re preventing your pet from any further suffering causes by flea and tick annoyances – and they will love you for it.

Frustration free application process. Fleas and ticks are enough bother for your pets, don’t annoy them further with a long and bothersome application process. Frontline Plus is dispersed throughout your pet using a process called translocation. This means the product is gradually spread with help from your pet’s natural body oils by first being collected in the oil glands before being distributed into the hair over a 30 day period. Translocation is not only convenient, but also proven as extremely effective at combating fleas and ticks.

Exterminate fleas and ticks permanently. The only experience worse than discovering your pet has fleas, other than not discovering at all, is discovering your pet has fleas AGAIN. It’s repeat occurrences like this that can really keep you and your pet irritated for extended periods of time. Fleas and ticks are parasites that like criminals, always return to the scene of the crime. Prevent repeat frustration by treating your pet with a product that not only kills the micro inhabitants, but prevents them from ever returning again. Frontline Plus’ tick and flea solutions do just that so you never have to watch your pet suffer through yet another “flea bath”.

Ticks and fleas are extremely annoying parasites that will bother both you and your pet to no end. They will lurk through the deep hair of your pet randomly biting as they please, while at the same time laying additional larvae to exponentially increase their annoyance. If your pet is infested with fleas and ticks he/she will feel as if his/her entire environment is against him. This is not healthy for your pet, fleas and ticks are serious problems that must be dealt with as soon as possible. Don’t give your pet’s personal terrorists any more time to attack, treat them with Frontline Plus.

Any parent knows that you don’t just put your toddler in the car and hit the road – a diaper bag and the supplies it contains are vital for a safe, happy trip. The same goes for your dog: whether you’re running errands or going out of town, you need to carry dog supplies to keep your dog safe and happy.

What goes in a doggie diaper bag?

Here are some basic dog supplies that you’ll need even on day trips:

    * Water. Don’t forget the bowl to serve it or you’ll end up with a wet mess.

    * Plastic bags. Be a good representative for traveling dogs. Keep plenty of bags on hand so you can clean up after your pup.

    * A collar, leash and identification. Most public places require dogs to be leashed at all times. If your dog manages to run off, his collar and tags will get him back to you quicker than a thousand “lost dog” posters.

    * Treats or clicker. Positive reinforcement of good behavior will reward your dog for his good public behavior and keep his focus on you, even when there are new sights, sounds and smells to distract him.

    * Your regular veterinarian’s contact information. You should have this information stored on your mobile phone or somewhere else that is quick and easy to find. If your dog needs emergency care, every moment counts – you don’t want to waste time looking for that number.

If you and your dog will be away from home overnight or are going out of town, here are some additional dog supplies you’ll need:

    * Contact information for a nearby veterinarian. Again, you don’t want to waste precious time searching for a vet in an unfamiliar place. Do the research before you need it.

    * Your dog’s regular food. Changing foods quickly can upset a dog’s stomach, so make sure to bring plenty of your dog’s regular food. Keep to his regular feeding schedule as much as possible.

    * A doggie first aid kit. These are great for treating minor cuts and scrapes. They also keep minor injuries from progressing to something worse.

    * Your dog’s regular crate or blanket. The familiarity will relieve stress and provide a comforting place.

    * Your dog’s brush or comb. Stress causes some dogs to shed more than normal, and it’s no surprise that long periods in the car and new surroundings can increase your dog’s stress level. A good brushing will reduce the hairy mess and soothe your dog.

Your browser may not support display of this image.

    * Dog booties. These are great for protecting your dog’s sensitive paws from rough terrain, ice, hot sidewalks and more. If your dog isn’t used to the environment you’re visiting, dog booties will prevent paw injuries that can derail your trip.

With these dog supplies in your doggie diaper bag, you and your dog will be able to enjoy your trip to the fullest. Happy trails and tails!

I remember back when I got my first puppy – those beautiful eyes, floppy ears, and the $500 in items from PetSmart. I went in there and literally just went around the store looking for what I would think she needed, but one thing I’ve really noticed is that I overlooked two main things. First of all we had purchased a “cage” for her to sleep in, stay in while we were out, etc. This wasn’t too bad but I just wasn’t thinking ahead what-so-ever. If I was smart I would have ended up purchasing one of the pet carriers that PetSmart had, or shopped online for one. But of course, I simply did not think that far ahead.

Another thing that I completely overlooked was all of their pet beds – I never really thought that our pup would use it. I just thought that she would either be sleeping in the cage or sleeping in bed with us. Needless to say I, of course, ran out and purchased one about two weeks later for her and she was addicted to it like she was to treats. It was her “idle spot” – she would stay there when she wasn’t doing too much else, was bored (and we weren’t around), etc. Ended up being a really good purchase for her. I don’t regret it one bit other than how much we paid for it; another example of how I should have shopped online for it.

The one new perspective that I gained from this pup was certainly the pet toys. Every toy I thought she’d like she wouldn’t, every toy that said “indestructible” definitely wasn’t (thanks, Kong). It became a little like being an investor. I would throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks, I’d purchase 5 or so toys and see which ones she’d play with for more than the first hour – assuming it actually survived past an hour. So needless to say it got harder and harder as I got more knowledgeable on the toys so once again I started purchasing them online from various retailers to not only find the best price, but check the reviews from other purchasers. It ended up being a good experience overall once I got the system finalized for it.

Prozac has been used for a lot of people who have anxiety and depression problems, but a lot of pet owners don’t know that it can be used in dogs, as well. If your pet is struggling with depression or an anxiety problem, you can talk to your vet about getting a Prozac prescription for your pup. Don’t be afraid to do something like this if it helps your animal feel better and have a more enjoyable life.

What Does Prozac Do?

Prozac, like many other drugs for anxiety and depression, helps to lift a depressed mood, lower anxious moments, and make a person (or a dog) feel more stable and comfortable. By evening out moods, there won’t be huge variances between the highs and lows that your pet will feel. He’ll be happier, and you may also see some behavioral problems disappear or lessen.

Is It Safe For Dogs?

Prozac is generally believed to be safe for dogs. Just like in humans, there’s always the chance that there will be a negative reaction or an allergic reaction to the medication. Prozac should only be given to your dog with a veterinarian’s prescription, and only if it’s really necessary. Over-medicating an animal just to keep it calm isn’t a good idea.

When To See Your Vet

If your dog is very anxious or lethargic, or he has other serious behavioral issues, talk to your vet about whether Prozac would be a safe and helpful choice, or whether there’s something else you should be doing instead. There may be other alternatives, or a combination of therapies could be the best choice.

Don’t buy Prozac from a source that isn’t reputable or give it to your dog without your vet’s ok. It’s a prescription medication for a reason, and you’ll want to be informed and careful so you don’t compromise your pet’s health.

Hip dysplasia affects a lot of dogs, and it’s generally seen in dogs that are larger – as well as in certain specific breeds. Some people argue that it comes from allowing or encouraging a dog to sit or lay a certain way, but others feel that it’s a genetic issue that doesn’t have anything to do with what a dog specifically does during its lifetime.

What Hip Dysplasia Means

Hip dysplasia is a problem with the joint. The hip joint becomes misaligned and fits poorly. Because of that, the dog has trouble walking and experiences a lot of pain and suffering. There isn’t much that can be done for this condition, and many dogs with it are euthanized because they can’t be surgically corrected.

Treatments For Hip Dysplasia

For mild cases of hip dysplasia, a dog can be given pain medication. However, as the condition gets worse there is less and less that a veterinarian can do for the dog. When it becomes too painful for the dog to walk, most veterinarians recommend humanely putting the dog to sleep to avoid suffering.

Working With Your Veterinarian

If your dog has hip dysplasia, it’s important to work with your veterinarian. In its early stages it may be treatable, and there are also ways to try to prevent it in dogs that are predisposed to it. Keep those things in mind when you get a dog and make sure that you work closely with your veterinarian so that you can provide a healthy, happy life for your dog.

Don’t automatically assume that hip dysplasia is something that your dog has to get. Even if this kind of problem is common in a particular breed, not all dogs will get it. Do what you can to prevent it, and start treating it at the earliest signs of a problem.

If you’re looking for K9 Advantix and you want to get it at a price you can afford, the good news is there are places where you can get it. The bad news is that you might have to look around a little, because you want to get not only the best price but the best company to deal with. You don’t have to buy K9 Advantix at your veterinarian, though, so don’t think you have to pay the high prices your vet likely wants.

Picking The Best Site

In order to get the best site for buying K9 Advantix, go with a familiar name and a site you can find a lot of information for. It’s not a good idea to pick a site or an individual you don’t know anything about. If you can’t find information about that site’s reputation, customer service, and reliability, you might just want to look elsewhere.

Getting The Best Deal

Even when you find a site you like and feel you can trust, don’t just assume that it’s the best one. What kinds of prices it offers are only part of the equation, as well. If the shipping costs are outrageous or there are other hidden fees you could end up spending more than you’d planned to. Make sure you look at the total cost of your K9 Advantix, not just the product price.

Don’t Settle For Imposter Products

If you like K9 Advantix and feel it’s doing a good job keeping your dog healthy and protected, don’t buy something else just because it costs less. Even if a site says its other product is the same, it might not be. Name brands can be important, especially where health and wellness issues are concerned.

Don’t ignore your gut feeling about your discount K9 Advantix options. The price is important, but so is the safety of the product and the protection of your personal information when you order.

In order to diagnose a sick dog properly, you have to have some veterinary knowledge. Just guessing could make your pet even sicker than he already is. If you don’t know what’s wrong with him, the vet can tell you. However, if you’ve got some knowledge and/or it’s not a serious illness, you may be able to diagnose your sick dog.

Gastric Illnesses

Illnesses of the digestive tract are relatively easy to notice because they generally manifest themselves with vomiting and diarrhea. These are signs that any pet owner can spot, and it’s often not a cause for alarm, unless it continues or there’s blood involved. Many dogs eat things they shouldn’t, but if the problems continue a vet should be consulted because the gastric upset could be from something more serious.

Sprains and Strains

A dog with an injured leg is often a pitiful sight. If you notice your dog avoiding putting weight on a leg or limping, try to see if the problem is in the pad of his foot or in the joint of the leg. Where the pain is coming from can help you make a diagnosis of what might be wrong with your dog and whether it’s time to consult the vet – or whether it’s just a minor injury.

Serious Problems

Some things require immediate medical attention, and others warrant an appointment with the veterinarian. Any dog that’s very sick and lethargic should see the vet, and the same is true with dogs that don’t appear to feel well but don’t have obvious signs of injury or disease. Some problems don’t lend themselves to a home diagnosis.

If you aren’t sure what might be wrong with your dog, see the vet. Don’t wait if you’re really worried, because your dog can’t tell you how he feels. He’s relying on you to be his advocate.

If you have a dog who’s received this kind of diagnosis, it’s very important that you pay close attention to what your veterinarian advises you to do when it comes to treatment and pain control.

Treating Or Curing The Disease

Some dogs, just like some people, can be successfully treated for cancer and they won’t see a recurrence. However, that’s often not the case. There’s still no cure for cancer, and the only hope is to remove all of it that can be safely taken out, treat the rest with methods such as chemotherapy or radiation, and see what the outcome is. Often it’s good, and sometimes it’s not, but there are only so many options.

Handling The Pain And Anxiety

Like people, dogs are often in pain from cancer and they’re very anxious, as well. They understand that something is wrong and they can’t talk about it with anyone the way a person could. Because of that it’s very important you make your dog as comfortable as possible. Your veterinarian can give you pain medication you can administer to your dog on a set schedule. Doing this will help to ensure that your dog will receive good pain control but will still be able to function.

Know When It’s Time To Say Goodbye

As difficult as it is, the time may come when it’s best to have your dog euthanized. Recognize the pain and suffering that your dog is going through, and don’t hold onto the animal just because you don’t want to be without him.

By following the advice of your veterinarian, you’ll be able to make the right choices. Take your cues from your dog, as he’ll let you know in his own way what he needs the most.

The Bond that may come between an individual and a dog can be highly strong, particularly if that bond had been fortified living alongside one another for a number of years, I have personally cried after loosing our family dog that had been like a best chum to me from my birth till I as fifteen years old, when he was hit by a vehicle one morning.

Dogs serve many different needs for folk. A dog that’s taken good care of and given attention to constantly will give his life to help protect his home and his owner.

The very first thing you must know about looking after a dog is that dogs need plenty of exercise. This is the same for huge dogs and little dogs.

All dogs need to be let out one or more times each 8 hours and should given at least a twenty minute walk to give the dog some unpolluted air, exercise and an opportunity to alleviate themselves. It’s also necessary to play with the dog on a consistent basis. This can imply going to the park on a weekend or day off and having a good game of fetch, tossing the ball around in your back yard or simply wrestling on the ground with the dog, simply make sure if you’re ruff housing with a little dog that you do not incidentally hurt the dog. Playing with the dog for a half hour a day, is not just good for the dogs physical health but a dig that’s played with continually is mentally fitter and less sure to become a depressed dog, it also lowers your blood pressure as well and it’ll form an unbreakable bond between you and your pooch, that will extend to your folks if you must start to have one after having the dog. What you feed your dog is important to the dogs continued good health. The better dog foods will be marked for what are groups the food is acceptable for. Younger dogs need certain minerals and vitamins in bigger amounts then an adult dog, and the same applies for an aged dog they need more calcium in their food to help protect their joints and bones.

Feeding your dog the incorrect food can stunt the dog’s expansion and opens the dog to a bigger chance of surgery when they’re older. Just like someone a dog should be brought to the vet’s office every six months, and must receive their shots each year. Regular checkups and vaccination treatments will also help assure that your dog grows to be an old content dog.
